Kirkburn war memorial clock © Mrs Marigold Vodden, 2010Kirkburn war memorial takes the form of a clock at St Mary's Church. A brass tablet within the church records that the clock is a memorial to those of the parish who gave their lives in World War I. The church is grade I listed.

In 2001 a grant of £100 was given towards conservation work as part of a major restoration programme being undertaken at the church.

The clock was placed on the Tower in 1920.

The memorial plaque reads:

"The clock in the tower of this church
was placed therein in the year 1920
to the glory of God
and
in memory
of the following men from this parish
who gave their lives in the Great War
1914 - 1918
