Liskeard war memorial stands on the roadside of Castle Street at the junction with Castle Hill. A number of steps lead up to a plinth upon which stands an obelisk. A Maltese cross is carved at the top of the front face above which is a laurel wreath. The names of the Fallen are inscribed on plaques attached to the front face for the World Wars.
In 2001 War Memorials Trust contributed £100 towards a project to repair the memorial. It required re-pointing.
The memorial is listed at Grade II.
The memorial inscription reads:
In everlasting memory of the Men and Women of Liskeard who fell in the Great Wars.
“These died the you might live”
The names of the Fallen are listed. There are plaques for 137 people who died in the First World War and 37 who died in the Second World War. In addition there is an inscription on the Second Wolrd War plaque for 4 men who died on active service in 1946 and a further incription on the side recording
S. B. R. Mayor who died on active service in 1987
