The World War I memorial in the garden of remembrance at New Street Methodist Church, in the town of Welshpool, Powys, in the Welsh Marches, is a marble tablet carved to imitate a scroll. It has an inscription and a list of names of those who fell in the Great War. It measures approximately 2ft by 1.5ft.
In March 2002 War Memorials Trust gave £100 towards work to clean and re-letter the memorial.
The plaque came to light in 2001 after an appeal in a local newspaper; it had originally hung in a church which was no longer in use, and after the move had ended up in a cupboard at the New Street church, not on public display.
The inscription on the memorial reads
