The memorial in Littlewick Green, Berkshire is a tall teak crucifix with a wooden-shingled canopy set on a four-stepped base of York stone. It stands in the churchyard of St. John the Evangelist church, on the north side of the chancel.
In October 2007 War Memorials Trust granted £195 towards work to remove rusty nails and damaged or unusable wooden shingle tiles from the canopy and to replace the damaged shingles, to repair cracks to the timber and to apply a protective coating to the wood.
The memorial was designed by Mr. S. Slingsby Stallwood. The memorial cost £247 which was raised by private subscription and fundraising events such as a social evening at the village hall. It was dedicated on the afternoon of Sunday 14th March 1920. The service began with the sounding of the reveille by a bugler of the Royal Berkshire Regiment. The memorial was unveiled by Capt. Ross (late Sherwood Foresters) after which relatives of the men who had died came forward and placed flowers upon the base of the memorial. This was followed by the Last Post and the National Anthem.
On the face of the stepped base is the inscription
