Halesworth war memorial © Halesworth Town Council 2003Halesworth war memorial stands in the Arboretum in Halesworth near the market place. It is a 3 meter/15ft high Aberdeen granite obelisk on a three stepped base. Inscriptions are found on each side and a vase stands in front of the memorial for flowers.

In 2003 War Memorials Trust made a grant of £200 towards re-lettering and re-pointing works.  

The memorial was dedicated on 6th March 1921 and unveiled by Major R A Parry DSO.

In honour of the Men of Halesworth who fell in the Great War 1914 - 1918
"Greater love hath no man than this"
1939 - 1945

A list of names follows the title In Memoriam.

In addition the names of civilians are given

"Lest we Forget"
Civilians killed in Enemy Action
Miss J. E. Clarke
Mr and Mrs H. W. Holland
