Halesworth war memorial stands in the Arboretum in Halesworth near the market place. It is a 3 meter/15ft high Aberdeen granite obelisk on a three stepped base. Inscriptions are found on each side and a vase stands in front of the memorial for flowers.
In 2003 War Memorials Trust made a grant of £200 towards re-lettering and re-pointing works.
The memorial was dedicated on 6th March 1921 and unveiled by Major R A Parry DSO.
The inscription on the memorial reads
In honour of the Men of Halesworth who fell in the Great War 1914 - 1918
"Greater love hath no man than this"
1939 - 1945
A list of names follows the title In Memoriam.
In addition the names of civilians are given
"Lest we Forget"
Civilians killed in Enemy Action
