Stamford war memorial © A. L. Stubbs, 2010Stamford war memorial is located on the wall of Browne's Hospital on Broad Street. Nine bronze plaques, in a Clipsham stone frame, carry the names of 237 who fell in World War I. They are behind railings, set back from the pavement.

In 2003, the Small Grants Scheme awarded £500 towards a project to improve the hardlandscaping around the memorial to improve safety and access.

On 7th November 1919 a meeting at the Town Hall set up a War Memorial Committee. The memorial was dedicated on 24th June 1920 at 7pm. The memorial was re-dedicated on 27th June 2004.
