Ince-in-Makerfield war memorial © M. Coyle 2009A granite war memorial plaque is located on the wall of Christ Church on Church Road, Ince in Makerfield, Manchester.

In 2003 the original plaque, erected as a bequest of local business man Jim Sutcliffe in 1946 was replaced. It had suffered severe weather and pollution damage. When looking to repair the plaque the local Royal British Legion branch identified 4 names of the Fallen which were missing for various reasons. As no room remained on the original plaque, and due to its poor condition, it was decided that a new plaque would be commissioned and placed on the Church Wall. The Small Grants Scheme provided £200 towards the project.
