Wellow war memorial before work © Wellow Parish Council, 2007Wellow war memorial cross is made of granite with metal plaques and inscribed black lettering. The memorial stands on Romsey Road having previoulsy been located in the churchyard of St Margaret's (where the original base remains with a plaque).

In 2007 the memorial needed to be moved due to traffic accidents damaging it and its uneven position. It was moved further back from the road to a safer spot and the surrounding area was levelled which ensures those visiting the memorial can do so more easily. Whilst this work was undertaken repairs and improvements were added with new corner pillars, landscaping to the surrounding area and the addition of two new benches. War Memorials Trust contributed £1,500 to the project.
