The World War I memorial in the church of St. Katherine’s in the village of Little Bardfield in Essex is mounted on the south wall of the aisle. It is a red and white veined marble plaque set in a carved oak frame. Above the stone plaque is a segmental pediment decorated with curling gilded foliage around the royal coat of arms. The support underneath the memorial has two cherubs’ faced carved into the wood and a badge with the Chi-Rho symbol on it. Flags hang on either side of the memorial.
In August 2004 War Memorials Trust gave £350 towards work to clean the memorial and to polish it with microcrystalline wax polish.
