Tilbury-Juxta-Clare war memorial stands on Clare Road. It is a focal point in the small village. The memorial is in the form of a stone calvary on a plinth with a two stepped base upon which are inscriptions.
In 2003, the custodians were looking into undertaking conservation work on the memorial as the arms of the Christ figure were damaged. Unfortunately, at that time the memorial was damaged by vandals who knocked it over. The proposed work therefore became more substantial and War Memorials Trust made a grant of £250 towards repair and cleaning.
The memorial was erected around 1920. In 1990, it became the responsibility of St Margaret's Tilbury-Juxta-Clare Parochial Church Council.
The inscription reads:
He is our Peace
1914 - 1918
