This memorial takes the form a large pier with a semi-circular head, with an integral Latin cross, the head of which is formed from a Crown of Thorns. The stepped and weathered octagonal base is mounted on a large circular platform, indented with steps at the front. Inscription panels at base of cross shaft and weathering of base are incised with dedication inscriptions. The memorial is constructed of Ham Hill stone ashlar and is sited at the edge of the village green in the village of Wisham.

In 2018 War Memorials Trust gave a grant of £1000 towards the undertaking of conservation works to clean the Grade II Listed memorial using specialist steam cleaning equipment.

This memorial was erected by a public subscription of £150. It is probable that the first Remembrance Day service in which it took part was in the November of 1923. The site, at the entrance to the village was given by Mr Ward Coleridge, while Mr T.Spurdle has kindly offered to give up part of his garden as required. The base of the memorial was the contribution of Captain Davies. Mr Lee. The builder erected the structure without profit.

The inscription reads:
In memory of the men of Winsham and Cricket St Thomas who fell in the Great War 1914 - 1918. 'True love by life, true love by death is tried. Live Thou for England. We for England Died'.
