Lymm war memorial is located at St Mary’s Churchyard, Church Road, Lymm, Cheshire. This memorial is in the form of a red Woolton sandstone replica of a Blomfield Cross of Sacrifice with an engraved sword of sacrifice, mounted on a two stepped octagonal base. The raised stone inscription commemorates those who died in World War I and II. The memorial is listed by virtue of being within the curtilage of the listed church and is located in Lymm Village Conservation Area.
In 2016 a grant of £770 was awarded through the War Memorials Trust Grants Scheme towards a new handrail to improve accessibility to the war memorial. This was protected with SmartWater.
The unveiling of the war memorial took place on Sunday 17th July 1921 by Lt Col Thomas Ridgway and the memorial was dedicated by Rev H. E. Maddox with Lt Col C. T. Alexander reading the Roll of Honour. Mr & Mrs Thomas J. Ridgway placed a large wreath in memory of their son Issac Althorp Ridgway followed by the placing of personal tributes from the relatives of the fallen men.
