This war memorial comprises a limestone wheel cross with carved Celtic detailing set on a square stone pedestal and two stepped base. The memorial carries an inscription and the names of the Fallen from World War I. The memorial is located in St Margaret's Churchyard in Hardley.

In 2016 War Memorials Trust offered a grant of £1350 towards the undertaking of conservation works to clean the memorial using a DOFF steam cleaning method, and to repaint the inscription with two layers of enamel paint to match the original design. In addition, loose and failing mortar was raked-out from the memorials joints and joints were repointed using a lime mortar.

The inscription reads:
In Memory Of The Men Of Hardley Who Laid Down Their Lives In The Great War 1914 – 1919 Frederick Brabben, James Brinded, George Crisp, William Crisp, George Daniels, Henry Knights, Albert Thorpe “May They Rest In Peace”
