North Cave war memorial is located at the junction of Station Road and Westgate in North Cave, East Riding of Yorkshire. It is a Portland limestone floriated Latin cross with carved decoration including white roses of Yorkshire. It stands on a plinth above three steps which carry the incised inscription commemorating those who died in World War I and II and the Malayan conflict. It is located in North Cave conservation area.
In 2015, a grant of £4,620 was offered through War Memorials Trust Grants Scheme, supported by First World War Memorials Programme, towards steam cleaning the stone and re-pointing using lime mortar. In addition, the lettering was sharpened and deepened to improve legibility of the inscription. This was undertaken after cleaning and a visit by a War Memorials Trust Conservation Officer to assess the extent of works needed. Sharpening and deepening lettering earlier than needed removes material before its natural lifetime thereby reducing the lifespan of the war memorial. The grant paid was £3,540 as costs were lower than expected and War Memorials Trust bases its offers on a percentage of costs thus the value fell.
The war memorial was unveiled on 18th June 1921 by Miss Patricia Carver.
