Tarrant Keynston before works © South Tarrants Parish Council 2016 The memorial is located to the north side of Main Street in Tarrant Keynston (also known as Tarrant Keyneston), enclosed by chains between concrete bollards. It is a limestone Latin cross on tapered base set on a square limestone pedestal atop a stepped base. A World War I inscription is incised on the front elevation of the square limestone pedestal with a World War II inscription added to rear elevation.

Tarrant Keynston after works © South Tarrants Parish Council 2016In 2016 a grant of £680 was awarded through War Memorials Trust Grants Scheme to undertake cleaning of stone surface using natural bristle brushes low pressure water washing and mild detergent. The initial works proposed had requested a sharpening and deepening of lettering to improve legibility however this work was excluded as it was thought unnecessary.

Inscription reads:
“TO THE GLORY OF GOD AND IN HONOURABLE MEMORY OF THE MEN OF THIS PARISH WHO FELL IN THE GREAT WAR 1914-18 HARRY HORACE BOYNE WILFRED FRANK FIANDER WILLIAM KENNEY WILLIAM HENRY LOADER FREDERICK CHARLIE RAYMENT SAMUEL LOUIS RIGGS GILBERT JOHN STRANGE HAROLD ERIC WELLS”
