The monument comprises a simple cross with tapering polygonal shaft on a stepped pedestal is approximately and is approximately 13ft high constructed of grey granite with Cornish Granite panels. The panels at the base of the memorial give details of those residents of Haverhill who gave their lives during World War I. The memorial is enclosed by a 3ft wall which also contains panels to commemorate those who fell during the World War II. Another panel is dedicated to 42 men of Commonwealth and Allied nations who are buried nearby in the cemetery.

In 2016 War Memorials Trust offered a grant of £180 towards works to hand clean one of the World War II memorial plaques using natural bristle brushes and low pressure water washing and for the addition of two names to the plaque in lead lettering to match the original style and font.
