Caterham Hill war memorial is located at St Lawrence’s Churchyard on Church Road in Caterham on the Hill, Surrey. This memorial is a calvary cross constructed of Portland stone, on a square base and chamfered plinth with stone carved details including a wreath. There is an incised inscription on the plinth commemorating those who died in World War I. The memorial is listed by virtue of being in the curtilage of the listed church.
In 2015 a grant of £1,470 was awarded through War Memorials Trust Grants Scheme, supported by First World War Memorials Programme, towards cleaning with steam to improve the legibility of the inscription.
The memorial was designed by Thomas Mewborn Crook (1869-1949) and the builder was Mr Charles J. Blomfield. It was dedicated on 12th March 1921 by the Bishop of Southwark and unveiled by Maj Gen G. D. Jeffreys.
