Wicklewood war memorial before work © Wicklewood Parish Council, 2014The memorial consists of a Portland Celtic cross with decorative relief knot work stone carvings on the cross shaft. The cross surmounts a plinth with commemorative inscriptions which is raised on a rectangular base.  The base is surrounded with stone chippings and stone kerbs stones. The memorial is located in the grounds of All Saints Church in Wicklewood.

In 2014 a grant of £1,490 was offered for repair and conservation work. Deterioration of the stone along with soiling on its surface was making the inscription more difficult to read. Many of the construction joints had cracked or had missing mortar. In addition the stone Wicklewood war memorial before work © Wicklewood Parish Council, 2015kerbs surrounding the memorial had became loose. To address these issues the memorial was re-pointed with a lime mortar and the kerb stones were secured and re-pointed. The memorial was gently cleaned making the inscription easier to read.

The memorial was unveiled and dedicated on 22nd August 1920; the ceremony was performed by Reverend Canon Upcher, Rural Dean.

The roll of honour incised into the memorial, features the names of 10 individuals, which includes four sets of two brothers.
