Mealsgate war memorial before grant works ©Allhallows PCC 2014Mealsgate war memorial is located at All Saints Church and takes the form of a cross. The memorial is composed of a stone base surmounted by a Celtic cross. The inscriptions are painted on the shaft and base and commemorate the fallen of the First and Second World Wars.

In 2014 War Memorials Trust offered a grant of £257 towards the restoration of the lettering. The inscriptions had lost legibility so these were re-painted using black enamel paint.

The inscription on the memorial reads:
