The Husbands Bosworth Grade II listed war memorial is situated at the edge of All Saints churchyard, at the junction of Church Street and the High Street in the village of Husbands Bosworth in Leicestershire. It is a Celtic cross on a circular three stepped base and plinth; the second step is formed of triangular sections of stone.
In 2007 War Memorials Trust offered a grant of £1500 towards work to clean the memorial and repoint the joints and replace worn areas of stonework. Metal plaques with the names of the men commemorated had been fixed to the memorial at some previous time because the original stone had eroded and become illegible; these plaques were removed and worn inscription panels were replaced.
There is an inscription on the plinth
“To the glory of God
and in honour of those who
fell in the Great War 1914-1918
To them the immortality to us the memory”
Below this is a plaque headed “1939 – 1945” and the names of the fallen of the World War II. On another face of the plinth are listed the men who died in the World War I and below that a plaque dated 1947 commemorating a member of the Marines.
