Birlingham war memorial before work © Birlingham Parish Council, 2005Birlingham war memorial stands on the village green outside the church. The memorial is a stone cross with a Celtic pattern at the top and inscriptions on the shaft and plinth which stand on a two-stepped base.

In 2005, a grant of £250 from the Small Grants Scheme supported a project to re-point the memorial with lime mortar and cleaning with water.

The memorial was paid for by public subscription. World War II names were added in 1948.
