Buckland Monachorum war memorial is located on The Green in Crapstone. The memorial is formed of a five stepped base, plinth, tapering shaft and Latin cross. The inscriptions are formed of lead lettering and appear on the steps and plinth. The memorial commemorates the fallen of the First World War, Second World War and Korean War.
In 2014, War Memorials Trust offered a grant of £973 towards the conservation of this war memorial. The memorial was discoloured so cleaned using a low pressure steam cleaning system and open joints were re-pointed using a non-cementitious lime mortar mix to colour match the existing stonework. The inscriptions were losing legibility so the lettering was re-painted, loose lettering was re-fixed and two letters that were missing were replaced using the same font and materials as original lettering.
Buckland Monachorum war memorial was designed by Mr Basil Stallybrass and unveiled by by Sir Henry Lopes on Sunday 26th February 1922 and dedicated by Rev E. F. Newman. The inscription on the memorial reads:
