Plaques with lead lettering are attached to the plinth and a further marble plaque is fixed to the base. The memorial is dedicated to the fallen of the First and Second World Wars.
In 2014, War Memorials Trust offered a grant of £710 towards the conservation of this war memorial. Works included; low pressure steam cleaning, re-pointing the open joints using a non-cementitious lime mortar to match the colour of the stone, repairing water traps and fractures using an appropriate lime mortar mix and cleaning the lead lettering using soft, non-metallic bristle brushes, soft sponges and water and the application of a patination oil.
