Bempton war memorial © Bempton Parish Council 2014Bempton war memorial is located at St Michael’s Churchyard. The memorial takes the form of a limestone Latin cross on a tapering shaft, square plinth and one stepped base. The memorial commemorates the men who fell in the Great War, the Second World War and the Korean War.

In 2014, War Memorials Trust offered a grant of £74 to add three names to the memorial. A local historian conducted research into the memorial and found three First World War veterans, Harold Shipley, James Towse and Matthew Holmes, were missing. The names were added in the same style, materials and font as the original lettering.
