This war memorial consists of a granite obelisk on a two stepped plinth and a two stepped base. The memorial is surrounded by iron railings and it stands on the Village Green of Holt, Wiltshire. The memorial lists the names of 32 men from Holt who died in World War I and 8 names of men who died in World War II.
In 2013 War Memorials Trust offered a grant of £1,470 towards repairs to the bottom step, which had split in several places. The step had at some point in the past been replaced with concrete so the new step was replaced with a granite to match the rest of the memorial. The memorial was also cleaned using non-metallic bristle brushes and water.
The memorial was unveiled on Sunday 4th July 1920 by Lord Methuin. The iron railings were added in 1922, paid for by public subscription and made by local Blacksmith Mr Harry Harding.
