The Builth Wells war memorial cross around which stand four figures: a soldier, a sailor, an airman and a merchant seaman. Bronze plaques attached to the plinth carry names and inscriptions. The memorial stands in the cricket field, a park close to the River Wye on Church Street.
In 2005 it was identified that the name of Pte Glasscodine was missing from the memorial. War Memorials Trust donated £75.00 towards the addition of the name.
The memorial was unveiled on 10 July 1924 by Lord Glanulsk. It remembers the fallen of both World Wars.
The inscription on the memorial reads:
In honoured memory of the men of the parishes of Builth Wells and Llanddewir Cwm who laid down their lives in the Great War 1914 - 1918.

These also paid the supreme sacrifice 1939 – 1945
