Conferences

In 2009, War Memorials Trust launched educational conferences aimed at assisting those involved in war memorial conservation. Five conferences were held across the UK in 2009 and 2010 offered free of charge at small venues, normally the morning session was Looking After War Memorials for custodians and the afternoon event War Memorial Conservation for contractors. Looking After War Memorials proved very popular whilst War Memorial Conservation was less succesful. Details of events held are provided on the conference history page.

In 2011, War Memorials Trust went into partnership with the Society of Local Council Clerks (SLCC) to deliever the Looking After War Memorials content in an expanded full day format covering a wider range of topics and creating the opportunity for more discussion. War Memorials Trust will be presenting the conferences with the SLCC undertaking the administration. A small fee is charged to attend enabling an improved learning experience to be created. Conferences should be booked through the SLCC following the details below.
