Beoley war memorial before cleaning © Beoley Parish Council, 2010Beoley war memorial is located at the entrance to St Leonard’s Church on Beoley Lane. The memorial is a wheel cross made of Portland stone and has a sword on the front face of the cross carved in relief. The cross stands on a plinth and two steps; the inscriptions for both World Wars are incised and painted on the plinth and step. The memorial is Grade II listed.

In 2010, War Memorials Trust offered a grant of £600 towards the cleaning of the memorial to help improve the legibility of the lettering. Cleaning was undertaken using minimal methods of natural bristle brushes and water. As deposits on limestone are soluble in water this method was successful.

The memorial was unveiled by Lord Plymouth in July 1921Beoley war memorial after cleaning © Beoley Parish Council, 2011 and consecrated by the Bishop of Worcester.
