This memorial is located on a traffic island at the junction of Ford Bridge Road and Church Road in Ashford, Surrey. It is has a Portland stone winged figure of Victory and has a three stepped base with York stone plinth. Inscriptions are carved on the sides of the plinth. There is also a WWII stone with one side in the shape of an open book with carved inscription on both sides.
In 2007, War Memorials Trust gave a grant of £1,500 towards steam cleaning and application of biocide to inhibit the return of algae. Several of the inscriptions were re-cut and the World War II memorial (the book shape) was relocated to the north side of the main memorial. Where necessary, the paving was re-bedded and re-pointed.
Inscriptions on the memorial read:
1914 1919
To all those who gave their lives
1939 1945
We will remember them
