Belper war memorial obelisk © Peter Clarke, 2010The Belper war memorial is an unpolished granite obelisk supported on a five stepped base. It is set in gardens on King Street, Belper. The memorial lists 226 First World War and 71 Second World War personnel who lost their lives.

In 2002 a project to clean and reletter the memorial took place. War Memorials Trust contributed £250.

The inscription to the Great War fallen is on one face of the base with the names one the remaining three faces. The inscription reads:

"To the glorious
and undying memory of
the men of this town
who gave their lives
for their King and Country
during the Great War
1914-1918
Their names liveth for evermore"
