Forest Row war memorial is located in Upper Square, Lewes Road, Forest Row. The memorial commemorates all those who fell during the First and Second World Wars.Forest Row war memorial obelisk cSue Young, 2014

In 2016 a grant of £750 was awarded through War Memorials Trust Grants Scheme towards a full condition survey and report with recommendations to inform necessary conservation and repair works which was undertaken by a conservation-accredited conservator.

The Grade II listed war memorial is the work of sculptor E. G. Gillick and was constructed in 1920. The memorial comprises a moulded, tiered plinth supporting a tapered square column with a moulded cornice. Above the cornice to the east and west are carved figures of child angels holding scrolls. On the north and south are large plain crosses. Above the level of the cross arms are miniature obelisk like structures on the angles and above this is a central foliate finial supported by undercut arches.

In 2018 this war memorial received a further grant of £7,140 from War Memorials Trust. The memorial was cleaned using steam cleaning. The construction joints were raked out and repointed. Historic repairs to damaged stonework which had failed were carefully removed and new repairs were carried out using lime-based mortars to reinstate the original design and profile of the original design. The surrounding paving stones were carefully lifted, re-laid to correct levelling, and repointed using lime mortar.

The cornice at the top of the pier bears the dates 1914, 1918, 1939 and 1945 and the inscription on the plinth reads 'In Remembrance of the men of Forest Row who died for England in the Great Wars'. The pier and part of the plinth carry the names of the Fallen.
