Finmere war memorial stands in the St Michael and All Angels Churchyard on Water Stratford Road. The Hornton Stone cross stands on a two-section inscribed and decorated plinth which is upon a stone base. The memorial is listed at grade II.
The memorial has received multiple grants and the summary details of this record relate to the most recent grant.
In 2004 the memorial was cleaned with water and soft bristle brushes. A grant of £250 was made by War Memorials Trust. This work revealed the extent of further works required.
In 2005 a second grant of £250 was awarded towards the re-cutting and enamelling of the lettering.
War Memorials Trust applied for the memorial to be listed in December 2005 and it was listed at grade II in August 2006.
The memorial was dedicated on 13th July 1921. It cost £80 and the work was undertaken by Messrs Coles of Brackley. The funds were raised from Parishioners. A panel to remember the Fallen of World War II was unveiled on 11th November 1954.
