Barton on Humber war memorial is located in the cemetery on Barrow Road and takes the form of a cross. The memorial is composed of a three stepped base, plinth, tapering shaft and Celtic cross. There are four columns, one at each point of the plinth and the inscriptions are incised in the sides of the plinth and painted gold. The memorial is dedicated to the fallen of the First and Second World Wars.
Following historical research, it was uncovered that there were names missing from this memorial. In 2013 War Memorials Trust offered a grant of £590 towards adding these names. Two new polished granite plaques to match the existing panel were inserted for the addition of the names in the same colour and font as the original lettering.
The memorial was unveiled on Sunday 3rd April 1921by Lieut-Col. H. G. Wilson and dedicated by Rev. William E. Varah.
