20th October 2009 Talk to Dalry Good Neighbours Club, Ayrshire
Regional Volunteer Paul Goodwin gave members of the Dalry Good Neighbours Club a talk about local war memorials which have been helped through the Trust's grant schemes.

Regional Volunteer Tony Stubbs gave a talk to the members of the Bingham branch of the Royal British Legion in which he explained about the work of War Memorials Trust.
11th October 2009 Imperial War Museum Duxford Autumn Air Show, Cambridgeshire
On Sunday 11th October six Regional Volunteers and Trust Administrator, Nancy Treves, braved a wet and windy day to promote the work of the charity at the Imperial War Museum Duxford’s Autumn Air Show. Despite the weather, thousands of visitors of all ages and nationalities made the journey to the museum which is based at a former Second World War airfield just south of Cambridge. The Trust representatives distributed over 600 copies of the Bulletin to visitors, answered numerous questions about the charity and war memorials and sold packs of the Trust’s 2009 Christmas cards. The event was a great success and the Trust’s presence generated interest in the work of the charity and the importance of preserving the UK’s war memorial heritage.
30th September 2009 Rededication of Hoby war memorial, Leicestershire
Regional Volunteer Chris Stephens represented the Trust at the rededication ceremony for the All Saints Church war memorial.
27th September 2009 Talk to Western Front Association Offord Cluney branch, Cambridgeshire
Tony Stubbs, Regional Volunteer for Lincolnshire, gave a presentation to the members of the Offord Cluney branch of the Western Front Association which included information about the work of War Memorials Trust.

13th July 2009 AGM, London
War Memorials Trust held its AGM at the Churchill Museum and Cabinet War Rooms. The meeting was attended by 55 members, supporters, guests, Patrons, Trustees and staff. War Memorials Trust Chairman Algy Cluff and Treasurer Roger Bardell addressed the meeting before a lively question and answer session. Following the meeting refreshments were taken during which further discussion took place. Those in attendance were then able to visit the museum. War Memorials Trust would like to thank the Churchill Museum and Cabinet War Rooms for allowing the Trust to hold its meeting at what was a wonderful and interesting venue. Copies of the minutes have been distributed to those who attended and members wishing to obtain a copy should email info@warmemorials.org.

3rd July 2009 Rededication of Hanworthy war memorial, Dorset
Chris Moreton, Regional Volunteer for Dorset, attended the rededication of the war memorial at St Michael's Church in Hanworthy.
2nd July 2009 Thurnscoe war memorial rededication, South Yorkshire
Regional Volunteer Peter Bennett represented War Memorials Trust at the rededication of the Thurnscoe war memorial following a successful restoration project.
1st July 2009 Wreath laying at Thiepval, France
A wreath from War Memorials Trust was laid by a member of the charity at the annual Thiepval remembrance service.
28th June 2009 King's Sutton rededication service, Oxfordshire
Regional Volunteer Malcolm Thomas represented War Memorials Trust at the rededication of the relocated King's Sutton war memorial.
27th June 2009 Yorkshire Family History Fair, North Yorkshire
The Trust’s Administrator, Nancy Treves, and Regional Volunteers Anne Brook and Mike Coyle represented the charity at the Yorkshire Family History Fair. The event was held at the Knavesmire Exhibition Centre at York Racecourse and is one of the biggest in the family history calendar. Family History Societies from the surrounding areas were all represented as well as those from further afield, such as the Cornwall Family History Society, and national organisations, such as the National Archives and the Western Front Association. The day was an extremely busy one with a large number of the attendees visiting the Trust’s stand to find out more about the charity. Many took the time to tell us stories about their local war memorials and to explain how important they think the work of the Trust is. The Trust hopes that the event has raised awareness of the charity and we would like to thank Anne and Mike for giving their time and energy to help at the event.

Rachel Farrand, Regional Volunteer for Nottinghamshire, represented War Memorials Trust at this service to rededicate the Jacksdale war memorial after restoration work was completed.
11th June 2009 Unveiling and rededication at St Joseph's College, Dumfries and Galloway
Regional Volunteer Paul Goodwin represented the Trust at the unveiling of a new war memorial and the rededication of the existing war memorials at St Joseph's College.
5th June 2009 Collingwood memorial service, Dorset
War Memorials Trust was represented by Regional Volunteer Sara Grayson at this annual service of remembrance.
28th May 2009 Talk to Dalry School, Ayrshire

Lancashire Regional Volunteer, Carol Stephens, represented the Trust at a celebration to mark the listing of the Earby war memorial.
16th and 17th May 2009 Belvoir Castle Steam Fair, Lincolnshire
One of the Trust's Regional Volunteers, Trevor Hearn, represented the charity at this annual event in Bourne and distributed information about War Memorials Trust to visitors.
1st May 2009 Gressenhall Roots Family History Fair, Norfolk
Norfolk Regional Volunteers June and Jim Marriage promoted War Memorials Trust at the Gressenhall Family History Fair by distributing Trust literature and talking to visitors about the work of the charity.
28th April 2009 Talk to Leicester History Group, Leicestershire
Regional Volunteer Chris Stephens gave a talk about the diverse range of war memorials in the UK and the Trust's work to preserve them.
26th April 2009 Flora London Marathon, London
The morning of Sunday 26th April saw 35,000 excited runners gathering on Blackheath for the start of the Flora London Marathon 2009. Amongst the crowds was War Memorials Trust’s only runner, Andy Dobson, wearing a green and white running vest emblazoned with the charity logo and his nickname ‘Dobbo’ to encourage spectators to shout their support. It also featured the number 147 in remembrance of Andy’s friend, Major Nick Bateson, who was the 147th serviceman to be killed in Iraq. Andy completed his first Marathon in a very impressive 4 hours 8 minutes 47 seconds and managed to raise almost £2,000 for which the Trust is very grateful. For the Trust to participate in what is the largest annual fundraising event in the world is a great opportunity to raise funds and also awareness of our work.

Paul Goodwin, Trust Regional Volunteer, attending the unveiling of a new plaque on the Loch Skerrow war memorial cairn in memory of a Canadian pilot.
13th March 2009 Talk to Royal British Legion Uckfield branch, East Sussex
The Trust's Conservation Officer, Joanna Sanderson, gave a presentation to the members of the Uckfield branch of the Royal British Legion about the Trust's work and the importance of monitoring the condition of war memorials.

20th January 2009 Reception at Clarence House, London
HRH The Duchess of Cornwall, Patron, hosted a reception at Clarence House for War Memorials Trust supporters and volunteers. Those in attendance included Area Vice Patrons, some of the Trust's Regional Volunteers from across the UK, representatives of organisations that have supported the charity, other volunteers including an entrant for the 2009 London Marathon, Trustees and staff.
